Hi everyone. Can you believe it is already Week 3? Time is flying, and these Red Fox Labrador pups are growing quickly. This week has been full of exciting firsts and a whole lot of cuteness.

Eyes Wide Open and Tiny Teeth

Let’s start with the big news. Everyone’s eyes are open now. It is amazing how quickly they have gone from tiny little potatoes to wide eyed explorers. And there is more. Those little puppy teeth have officially started coming in. You may not spot them easily on camera just yet, but they are definitely there.

First Adventures Outside

We also began introducing the puppies to outdoor playtime this week. We have a small patch of artificial turf at the house, and we have been taking them out a couple of times a day, usually in the cooler evening hours after dinner.

They are still getting used to the big outdoors. Everything feels new compared to the comfort of their whelping box and being close to mom. That is perfectly normal. These early outings help build confidence, and it is fun to watch them slowly take it all in at their own pace.

Weight Watch

It is always fun to check in on their growth, and they are gaining quickly.

  • Lime Green female is officially our biggest girl at 2,250 grams. She is solid and thriving.
  • Blue male is still our biggest boy and is tied with Lime Green at 2,250 grams.

They are currently neck and neck in the puppy growth race, but truly all six pups are healthy and doing well.

Deworming Day

We completed their first round of deworming this past week. It was not their favorite experience, but it is an important step in keeping them strong and healthy. Each pup handled it very well.

Looking Ahead to Week 4

As we move into Week 4, here is what we expect to see:

  • More confidence and curiosity during outdoor playtime
  • A few wobbly but entertaining attempts at running
  • Early signs of play behavior and social interaction
  • The gradual introduction of soft foods as they begin transitioning from exclusive nursing

Every day brings out a little more personality in each of these pups, and we are enjoying every stage.

Be sure to check out this week’s video to see the puppies in action. You will catch their outdoor playtime, some close up moments, and all the snuggly goodness that comes with this age.
